I love hearing that, because I really want people to sit with these. So I am glad you're saving them <3

Lovely, lovely, awesome! Thank you for the encouragement to pay for and invest in art whenever/wherever we can. I too am often bogged down by worries of money/bills/why/stress---art is the savior of officeLife people that have not Yet escaped. Thank you for sharing yours on instagram and in your newsletter.

I love this and think about this stuff a lot as a fellow working artist. Love the quote from Ayesha Khan. Thanks for sharing!

First, Anna, as an admirer of your work, let me say I'm thrilled to have you as part of the Freeflow community. I've been involved with the organization since 2019 and have led a handful of workshops, with two coming up this year (a zoom one in April, then a Missouri River trip in July that I simply can't wait for). These are the events I look forward to most every year.

Second, I love this post because it hits on so many themes I struggle with all the time. Especially this: "Part of this letdown is spending several days in community with people and creating something together in the process." Every year I'm on the river and I'm asking myself, "I need to remember this and make more time to do it more often...." and then I'm off the river and looking at my calendar again and I'm reminded WHY I don't do it more often. Then I resolve to change that, and I get depressed at the seemingly monumental effort of it all, then I crash ... and ultimately pick myself back up, dust off, and get back to it.

There is nothing more important than art. We all need it. I just wish the larger culture recognized that a little more clearly. But here we are, and it's nice to know there is SOME solidarity to be found here and there. ✊🏽
