Reading about treasures reminded me that yesterday while I was vacuuming, I sucked up a tiny piece of wool that I know lives in my swimming fleece pocket. I plucked it from a barbed wire fence in Iceland. Iβm glad you wrote this so now I remember to go fish it out of the vacuum cleaner dust bag.
This warmed my heart today. The way you describe creations that carry with them energy and curiosity in particular β that speaks to me so deeply! Thank you for reminding me of what matters.
I have a few oyster shells full of small collected items from a beach park close to me. They serve as little reminders of how magical the forest and sea are in the northwest. They are tiny installations until their eventual return back to the earth.
This was such a beautiful read Anna. I too collect little objects here and there as reminders, inspiration and memories so your writing really resonated with me. Perhaps itβs a habit as a third-culture kid as we try to find meaning and make connections - even if itβs for a week in a new place or treasures kept for years.
βItβs like holding a creative flame in the palm of your hand. I want to be surrounded by energy like this all of the time.β So much yes ππ
