Oh yes the in-between feeling, I know exactly what you're talking about (both me and my partner are transplants from two very different places). And yet, when we go home it feels right but once you've been away for so long, you feel like you don't quite belong anymore either, so this in-betweenness follows you wherever you go. I turn to the sea, because it feels like it connects me to the places I love. Sounds like a marvellous trip! And thanks for the Craig Mod link, been following him and his journey.
Made me homesick you did ... full on! ... with your detailing of the smells and sounds ... the beautiful song of that warbling bird!!! is unique and soo special ... all of it, THANK YOU for sharing your adventure. That museum has opened since I was last in Tas. and it seems people either love it or DON'T! The musicians story is wonderful! I knew you were there ... glad you had a such a good trip.
Welcome back! I knew you were going, didn’t realize you were gone, and now you’re already back! Time-travel! Sounds like a beautiful trip. Nothing like a new place to refresh the senses!
I really enjoyed reading this, and so many great observations are tucked throughout. Like this one: “That doesn’t feel like home in the way that cedar and Douglas Fir trees do, but it does feel like a very good friend.”

I've done enough 100 day projects to know how insane it is to write a new piece of music EVERY DAY. Like no weekend break?! Crazy.
That was my first through too. I think it’s most days, not every single day back to back…. But still!!!
Wow.

I thought of you several times! And if I managed to capture a little bit of a sense of place to make you feel homesick then I am honored ❤️
I was thoroughly delighted by the fake Picasso story!
Oh I’m glad someone clicked on it!
What an epic museum visit! I wanna go (though Australia is soooo far)! Hope you had a lovely trip.
Oh god you would love it. So weird and over the top!

Going to the southern hemisphere totally feels like some form of time travel. Garden welcomed me back in full swing!! ❤️
It’s definitely happening! Every day, new things pop out!
i love the “having nothing, finding something” framing - that's how i feel every time i sit down to make something. what a cool project.
I thought of you several times while watching and reading his book!!
